Making an Arched Window Beautiful

Here are some decorating tips for your arched windows.

• Adding pleated shades or scrolls to them can give them that old world feel.  They can be seen from the outside and they provide a look of lavish luxury. The scrolls can look nice on the inside, but when they are seen on the outside, it presents your home on a whole new level.
• Straight drapes can not only cover the window so no one is able to look in, but they can provide a beautiful look to the windows. You’re able to choose from many different colors and styles of drapes, as well. You are in control of how your arches look when it comes to the inside and the outside of your home.  Drapery rods can be installed so that the drapes stop below the arch top, leaving the glass exposed, or you can opt to install them to completely cover the window.  Decorators recommend that you make sure that the arches are showing, otherwise you’re covering up the most distinctive features of this window design.
• Swags and scarf valances draped over the arch area are an excellent decorative choice.
• You may opt for a partial valance like the one in the photo at right – the fabric panel covers the housing for the blinds that can be closed on the lower portion of the windows.
