Minnesota Modern Entry Doors Can Still Fit Your Style

Modern energy-efficient entry doors are being installed in more and more homes throughout the Twin Cities as well as the rest of Minnesota.  Replacing an entry door – especially the front door – offers one of the highest return on investment of any remodeling project. And since they come with so many different options they can be easily customized. You can have a front door that’s unique, complements your home, and expresses your tastes.

Why have a boring entry door, especially on the front of your home?

You can choose the style, look, color and more with the many exterior doors we install. Here at Window Outfitters, we want to make sure you’re happy with the outcome of your door replacement project, and that means finding one that fits your tastes.  We know that no one door works for everyone, and that’s one of the reasons we work with so many door manufacturers.

Here are some considerations to make when choosing a modern entry door for your home.

Tips for Customizing Your New Entry Doors

Upgrade the Door Hardware: While the standard brass or chrome might be nice for someone else, bronze might be the color you want to go with. There are a number of options in bronze – the deep, dark oiled bronze or the lighter burnished bronze are both popular.  If you’re thinking more along the lines of silvery color, consider brushed nickel.

Also think in terms of the type of hardware. Why not opt for a push lever instead of a doorknob?  And you can add accessories like a matching kickplate to really ‘kick it up a notch,’ so to speak.

Play with the Different Woods or Painted Finishes:  Exterior doors are available in a variety of different woods as well as painted finishes. Some prepainted doors come in vibrant colors, like lipstick red or vibrant yellow.

Add a Storm Door:  To change the look of an entry door or to add a little extra protection to it, consider installing a storm door.  We have a number of gorgeous storm doors available from companies like ProVia that will add charm and beauty to your front entry area plus provide another layer of insulation from the elements while protecting your entry door.

Include Decorative Glass: If you opt for frosted, obscuring, art or other decorative glass for your door, you can feel much more confident being able to enjoy the look and feel of the outside of your home. You’ll let more light into your home while adding a unique touch to your door.  Check out our Pinterest page for some inspiration.
